Please forgive if this question (or similiar one ) has already been addressed. I am looking to purchase a new computer for media applications. Photo editing, TV recording, simple video editing, publishing and word processing web surfing, no gaming and some music.
I will admit most of the language in this forum is latin to me. I have done some research and it seems to me that most of the mainstream computer manufactures are not highly thought of for some reason or another. I do not want to personally build my own, I want quality components, great service after the sale, quality build and I would like to system to be upgradable in the future if I want too.
I addition, because of the destop publishing that I will be doing I desire a 20" monitor.
I am seeking advice from the experts to find a system that would fit my needs (if possible) but want the advice in english not computerize.
Am I asking too much, and is it possible to have my cake and ice cream! I do not want the latest, greatest or best, just a good value and exceptional quality.

Are you sure you dont want to build your own? buidling your own is better, will be a little cheaper, and much better for upgrading. Check out Computer Specs 101

if you really dont try looking at DELL or HP.

If you dont feel comfortabe building one you can go to your local PC shop, buy the parts you want and have them build it and you will most likely get a warranty that way.
