Like I said, I currently have 2x512 DDR400 in my computer, in banks 1 and 3, to utilize dual channel. Now, I just bought one 1024 chip...where do I install it? I have a total of 4 memory banks. Should I just keep the 2x512 in their slots for dual channel, then just put the 1024 in the 2nd or 4th bank? I doubt this will slow anything down for any reason (new RAM is also PC400) but just checking with you gurus.
My owners manual doesnt go into what someone should do in this case.
