Today i got a new power supply and a new graphics card, put the new power supply in an the card, computer turns on...but nothing comes up on the monitor, it just acts as if its not even plugged into anything. so i took out the new card sense the drivers are not even installed yet, an plugged the monitor into the old card which is a on board graphics card. an still nothing... any help would be grate at this point.

Make sure all the connections on the power supply are secure and that you have a connection everywhere that it needs one. It would help if you posted your rig along with the old and new PSU.

Its a HP pavilion p1630f, the old power supply is a bestec 250W, and the new one is a ocz 600w, the on board graphics card is a nvidia 9100 and the new one is a evga ge force gtx 460. i checked recheck an checked agin that every thing is plugged in where it should be as far as the HDD and the cd rom an the mother board. how ever the new card is now out of the PC. for im just trying to now run off the old one untill can disable the old card an down load the drivers for the new one.

i just noticed that the motherboard fan comes on when i start up the computer but it turns off after about... 10sec maybe... I don't know if that means anything... but it use to run non stop.

You may have gotten a bad power supply. Haha, that's the only thing I can think of. That or the card just isn't compatible.

Take out the video card, go into the BIOS and set the primary gpu/adapter to PCI-E/PEG, save and exit. Shut down the machine after it reboots, reinstall the card, make sure the monitor is plugged into it. I get this problem all the time when switching between onboard and dedicated.

Yes as above and also if that doesn't work, remove the power cable and cmos battery for 10 minutes. Replace and try again.
