Alright, this may be really perplex and you may have never heard of it.
But I just got a BSOD, other times (long ago before reformat) it would just freeze and then the computer just won't budge. So I have to power it down. Then when I turn it back on again (after a short wait), it gets stuck at Detecting IDE Drives..., and well nothing really works unless if I unplug the PSU cable, causing the PC to turn off. Then I'm not sure if this part is a must but I turn off the PSU then turn it back on (after I plug the cord back). Then it loads up. This isn't the first time. Before I found this solution, I was frustrated and hit my computer with my bare fists - denting the whole thing. Fortunately, a friend was able to detect the problem and it was that the CPU fan was falling off and not secured tightly. But this problem is persistent.
