Having a little problem....

i am using the PC that is in my sig except for the video card, im using a PCI FX5500 because everyime i put a card in my PCI-E slot my computer will turn on but nothing on the screen, but it works fine with the 5500. ive tried a 9800gt, a HD4850 and a HD3870 and none of em workin in my pc except for the 3870 and that only worked for a couple days then i got the same problem and i kno all the cards work cuz ive tried em in a different pc. could my pci-e slots go bad? i just cant figure it out, can anyone help me??

I suppose it's possible you could have a bad PCI-e slot, seeing as the mini-PCIe slots died in this laptop (well, chipset pulled away from the board). However, before rushing and saying it's the motherboard, have you tried another power supply? I'm sure those other cards require a fair bit more juice than the FX5500 so maybe the power supply is just acting up.

I agree with you.
But hey who knows...maybe his slots really are going bad since 3870 worked for a couple of days.
