Having problems makeing internet conection

I have a new build. im trying to connect both of my computers using my router. with the new build i run all the wizards and do everything it says to do but it just wont work. ive been trying for about 3hours now with no luck. If anyone could help it would be wonderful :)

If your are trying a PPpoe connection make sure you enter the @domain.com after your username. Or just try connecting without the router first. Thats what the ISP will tell you.
 
I was able to establish a conection without the router. with the router I could get one to work but not the other.
 
do you have DSL or cable ?

if you have DSL you need to get the ip address of your modem and
set it to bridged ethernet and then set the router to do the PPPOE connection with the user name and pasword, also make sure DHCP in the router is turned on.
set both computers to automatic ip
