Hay wuts up yall. This is my first post, an I'm new an everything. But ontopic= Theres a problem with my new an faster computer. About a week ago I was on the internet, an all of a sudden my computer froze. So I turned it off an thenI turned it back on. The computer was working but the moniter just stayed blank. Then I tryed it again, an it did the samething. So I just turned it off an left it for a while. Then about 2 hours later I tried it again. It was botting up when this message came up, it said" WARNING!! Your CPU has been changed." An it said something else under it about that warning but before I could read it, the moniter just went blank again. No I did'nt have any virus's I already scanned it before it did that. Can anyone tell me whats going on? Or give me any tips to try to fix it? I'm using my other computer right now {which is alot slower}

Did you build this computer, or was it purchased from a manufactureer like Dell or HP or something?

Sounds like you might have a motherboard issue, that message is typical when you change the operating frequency of your CPU and the BIOS thinks it's a different processor that has been installed. Were you overclocking at all?

I'd try loading the default presets in the BIOS, and give it a go. If you had done absolutely nothing in the BIOS, this is probably how it was in the first place.

Pop you case open and look for a jumper to reset the CMOS. It's usally located by the battery on the board. Try another power supply if you can. Try removing addtional devices that you can remove. IE run with a single stick of RAM if you have 2+, remove sound cards, networking, even video to perhaps try to get a beep.

This reminds me a good bit of my dad's old probably a few years ago when his system just plain died. As 4W4K3 said, it sounds like a motherboard issue(which is what he had) If this is the case, about all you can do is replace it. Most of the time that's all that bad. The powersupply could also be bad, which again can usally just be replaced and all's well again.

Oh, would you know if theres any place that I could bring the computer, an people would look at it, an change out the motherboard an I paid them.

Lol,thanks for the offer, but I live in South Carolina. But I was talking about, places like bestbuy or electrnic stores.

Damn, $100, hay would they ship a computer across the country? Cause I was thinking about ship it out to you, an you take a look at it. An I'll pay too.

Haha I guess we could work that out but I'm sure there's someone more local. As for them shipping, they do it in store. It's just not cheap... I was seeing if I could find a price on BestBuy, but all I saw right off was $59 to install a wireless card in a machine. And realize this is a "special offer"...

I really didn't know what I was doing at the time I did this so I guess you could say it's a ballsy move, but a few years back I got the same error. I took out my CPU and turned the computer on (it will shut off within seconds) then put the CPU back in and turned it on and it was fine. Again I don't know how safe this is, I only tried it once because I was out of ideas and didn't care anymore. See if anyone here knows the dangers of performing this before you try it.

instead of the big companies like comp usa or best buy who charge a fee to look at it, take it to a local computer store that does like custom PC building and have them look at it and fix it. they will be cheaper and you will get your computer back soon because it doenst have to be shipped to a service station

Thanks,I'm also on another computer forum like this, an they gave me some ideas.Oh an someone that stays close to me is saying that they think theres a problem wrong with the video chip. Would that be true?

ive had the same exact problem and came to the conclusion it was the motherboard...i was wrong i have a biostar tforce 6100 with these nice red leds that go on and off in combonations to tell you whats wrong and if any errors are encountered so i found i had a vga error(the graphics card) which gives you a signal to the monitor but it stays black....what i did was clear the cmos(check your mb manual it should tell you where the jumper is and how to reset it) then turn on your computer and leave it on for a while if nothing happens turn it off and try again also check ur monitor connections and such to be sure it isnt something else

also when ur computer does start up again it will have the exact screen you talked about with the cpu error or whatever if u overclocked at all make sure(in bios) everything is set to normal because that is afterall what happened

if your computer never starts up then try unplugging uneeded optical and hard drives as this should free up some power im not 100% sure what caused my problem but i think it was my power supply because its a cheap one that came in my case and since i had overcloked pretty high i think the computer just ran out of power so id recomend a new power supply if yours is cheap too

hope this helped and goodluck

MY computer is fixed!!! Thanks for everyone who has helped!!! It had a burned wire an now its fixed. I dont know how that could have happened though.
