Having trouble with some Media Files -Totally Innocent -cough

I have some interesting footage of -cough-fluffy bunny rabbits and kittens playing-cough- and would love to get it working.
I can't get it working on realplayer windows media player etc and so on and am wondering whether i can get some help.
I am a complete simpleton when it comes to this sort of thing so the only information i can give you about the type of file it is is "Windows Media(TM) Video File".
Would love some help on the matter and would be eternally gratefull for a link and a step by step account to how to get this running because my PC iliteracy.

The problem is stupid windows media player doesn't play all video formats, and even with updated codecs some (like matroska, i believe) it still doesn't play well.

Stop using WMP to watch porn, Use VLC instead,

It's one of the best free media players available, and the best thing is you don't have to worry about it's codec set, it can play almost everything.
