Having trouble with USB memory stick to computer infection.

I am having trouble with USB memory stick to computer infection and I want to know if downloading the same files onto a CD or floppy disk will still infect the computer it is going to? I am 99% sure the outcome will be the same as transferring files from a USB memory stick ,but I just wanted to be sure. TIA
