Has anyone heard of how many watts is safe to run this card along with the other components for both a single as well as a HD 4870 X2 in crossfire?

You will require 56A (28A for each GPU) on the 12V rail in addition to 12V+2 (which is dedicated to the CPU), so that means you want at least a 750W PSU of quality build. I would suggest what i have, which is a TX750W from Corsair.

Yep from what I have been reading at least a 750 watt might be best.I was thinking of the PC Power and cooling 750 watt PSU.I have been reading good things about it.

Yep. I've run a bunch of crap with that PSU. Dual Ultras, 3870x2, etc. It'll run it well. Of course, for two X2s, you'll want at least 1,000W.

One of the 4870 X2's on newegg lists 1KW as minimum PSU for crossfire.I guess all those people putting 1,000 watt PSU's in thier builds that were made fun off may be laughing back now if they plan to run 2 of those.:D
