I have a pentium d 2.8ghz desktop with 2gb ram and 256mb graphics card.

i can watch 720p on my pc but when converting hd in anydvdconverter it takes on average 9 to 12 hours to convert to 720p.

its from 720p. avi or mkv to 720p mp4 for my mobile.

what im asking is can anybody tell me the hardware requirements to speed this process up as its to long at moment in conversion time.

thanks

Not much you can do if encoding. Its a time consuming process and always has been and always will be.

Outside of buying a new computer no. You could up your ram if your motherboard will take more. The pentium D is really holding you back, that is one of the worst processors intel ever made.

i also can buy a quad core and put it in as its socket lga775. the pc is great but i cant convert 1 film a day as i will be here all week and its to much strain on it.

Honestly i have a quad. Still takes a long time. If ya have one to pop in then go for it.
Encoding is time consuming. thats it.

Ram would help but as tremmor said it is just a time consuming process. If your going to be doing a lot of it, you may want to consider building a pc that is designed JUST to do your encoding.
