HD errors from airport scanners?

I'm currently formatting a person's laptop and I notice there seems to be a lot of HD errors (usually the case with a message: "Trying to recover allocation unit" when formatting). She travels alot and crashes on her laptop are common. I'm wondering if Airport X-Ray scanners and similar devices cause any errors with harddrives.

I dont think so either, I have three laptops which I take around with me all the time. I go in airports and docks more than you can imagine and mine are good as new. Ask her the sort of care she takes and what she does with her laptop, and what she uses it for, ask her if she has had it fixed before, etc etc. u get the point

I travel all the time and I never have a problem. I dont think that is what is giving her the errors.

You said that crashes are uncomming, if a hard drive falls on the ground, it can do serious damage to it.
