HD formatting question.

I’m trying to install a 40 gb hd, which was installed in my G4 (Mac) as an extra storage drive. The computer I’m trying to install it in is a PC and running Windows 2000. The drive will not have an OS on it, but will be used for back up purposes. The computer is recognizing the HD when it boots up and in Bios, but does not show up in the my computer area. I’m thinking it needs to be reformatted, but I can not find any formatting tools for IBM HD’s. Is there a way to format the drive through windows 2000? I don’t not have the original windows 2000 cd, because the computer was bought second hand. Any help would be wonderful!
Thanks again,

Right click on my computer and pick manage. Under the storage pick disk management. In the right pane you should see all the disks currently installed. Right click on a drive and pick format.
