HD Monitors

Hi.

I dont know too much about monitors etc, but my mate just got a PS3 with a 42" 1080i TV.

So Im wondering are all computer LCD HD? Or what?

Like does 1080i mean anything to computer gaming?? or is it just a resolution?

Im playing crysis now on my monitor and it looks pretty damn mean, just wondering if a HD monitor or something will make a difference?

Enlighten me hahaha.

I was just reading wiki,

Does 1080i or p just mean a resolution of 1920×1080?

If so doesnt that mean that it only looks better on larger screens as they need that much resolution? Like my 22" is only 1680x1050 and on the smaller screen looks just as good as 1920x1080 on a larger screen. As my pixels are compressed into a smaller screen size and 1920x1080 are stretched out over a larger size??

24" HDTV's are stupid. LIES i tell ya.

Standard 24"s have 1920x1200... BUT, if it's 1080p, you get 1920x1080.

Just a matter of the Widescreen ratio. 16:9 or 16:10. your Choice.

So a monitor above 24" is better than 42" 1080p?

Lol. mean.

Also to run games at higher resolution taxes the system right?

You would need to have a card that has a bigger memory capacity (512mb+) to even think about running stuff in extra high.

that 42 inch will pwn the 24 inch but they will still be very close.

Running games at higher resolution does tax the system quite a bit. I would advise having two gfx cards if you want to run either more than 1 monitor or a very high resolution on the monitor.

Yeah, Ive got 1gb so sweet there.

So just to clarify. 42" 1080p is only 1920x1080 pixels spread over the 42" so less consinstration on pixels than 1920x1080 in 24" so therefore better clearer picture on 24"
