HD on PC

hi guys, im really confussed about how to get HD on your PC.

What do you need hardware and software wise?

i have 22" syncmaster
8800GT nividia gfx card
quadcore processor

but its connected via DVI is DVI hd standard or is it only HDMI cables

your monitor has to support extremely high resolutions, past that its simply picture quality, and what your video card can process. lots of video cards support HD quality, but playing video games at HD quality is not always supported. you need a really fast card for that.
 
ok thanks, my resolution is 1680x1050 and i believe my video card is good enough. So if i downloaded a 720p dvd would i be watching it in HD, but i am using a DVI cable, i dont know if this matters

Your monitor is inherently HD, 1080p is only 1920x1080. 720p is only 1280x720. If you watch 720p, it only takes up about half of your total monitor space.
