HD Partitioning

I am planning on reformatting my computer and reinstalling everything.
My question is whether or not it is better to have one large drive or to split it into 2 partitions? At the moment i have a 320gig HD partitioned into 3 parts and one of those partitions is about 90% full which i believe is causing some of my games to crash.

Technically you can improve performance with multiple partitions by putting the most used stuff near the leading edge of the platter but I've always used a single partition for my drives.

I like partitioning my drives as it makes it easier to organize things, also it's handy when you want to reformat and reinstall your operating system. You can back files up onto your other partitions and just reformat C: and of course it can add to performance but that depends on the way you set your partitions up, sizes etc...
