HD With Windows in External Case

A friends MB crashed and she needs the info off her HD fast. I was thinking the quickest way for me to transfer it would be to install her HD in my HD enclosure and then transfer the info from it to my laptop, then transfer from there. My question is, since there is an operating system on the HD, will it cause a problem when I hook it up to the laptop?
 
No, just make sure the boot order doesn't change in the bios to where it still boots to your hard drive. Or its its usb then you can wait until after windows boots up to plug the usb cable in.
