I'm looking to purchase a video card for around about the $200 - $250 mark, but will be willing to stretch that budget a bit further if the gains are worth it.
I have a few cards in mind, and would like your opinion on what is best for gaming and best for price.
Sapphire HD4870 1GB ($200 AUS)
Sapphire HD4890 1GB ($250 AUS)
Palit GeForce GTX260+ 216 896mb ($225 AUS)
Gigabyte HD4890 1GB ($270 AUS)
Those cards seem awful similar to me, and is quite difficult for me to pick a clear winner. Even though 2 of those shown above are sapphire, I have no preference to the brand. I would like to know if the HD4890 is really worth the extra $50 over the HD4870. Would I notice the difference? Feel free to suggest entirely different cards around the same price mark.
