HD4870x2 overheating

Hi,

I installed a new cooler Accelero extreme 4870x2 but am really concerned about my GPU temp.

Idle temp is fine I guess but after about an hour of full load, temperatures get alarmingly high. What can I do about it?

I dont remember all temperatures I got with the stock cooler, I am afraid they were even higher but didnt have any problems and had it for 1 year.

Nothing to worry about, ATI cards get hot as hell and still work, kinda. My old 4850 reached 110C and still I was able to play games.
 
your fan is only at 40%. just kick it up a bit and you should be fine. wait, why does it say 1 rpm for the fan speed (down farther than the percentage one)? i would try turning up the fan speed in ccc (or something else if you'd like).

I was monitoring the second core which does not show any FAN RPM.
I really dont like the VDDC Slave temps almost hitting 130C. I dont know what temperatures it got with stock cooling I am afraid it went even higher.

All VDDC get below 60C just after game is shut down. I dont know whether I shall do something about it or this card is just built to work this way?
 
You should reomve that thermal paste and properly apply some on there. the way it's been squeezed onto the chips like a tube of toothpaste doesn't exactly help with the temps.
 
Indeed I applied the paste just before I installed the new fan. I am concerned about the VDDC Slave temps. those are overheating, the cores are fine
 
Can someone please tell me what to do? How to decrease the VDDC temps. I tried to run the fan at 100% that helped by like 10C so the temps were about 110C on each VDDC Slave but still not cool enough.

Anyone knows where on the card exactly those VDDCs are located?
 
So I have been advised that circled areas are VDDCs.

If anyone does not agree please tell me.

Any ideas how to cool them properly? I will try to replace old pieces of thermal pads otherwise I dont know what else can be done.
