Why do they continue to put these cheesy looking girls on the cards. Other than that it's a pretty good price and it will be even cheaper when the x2 comes out.

Yea I definitely would peel the sticker off. Looks much better with it off. I would do it to my card but it's just plane black and would be too boring but it has a similar kind of cheesy character

I really wish they would stop putting these "girls" onto graphics cards... the one on my 3870 gives me nightmares.
I hope that my 4850 will have none. It's an Asus, so i may be in luck.

Who cares about the picture on the card?

It faces down inside your computer case,
so you never see it anyway.

Maybe you would prefer a picture of
a guy instead?

So, what's so special about these cards?
Next generation cards.....first ones with DX11. Singlecard is almost close to a GTX295 in performance and its only a single gpu. Imagine three of these things in crossfire:eek:

Plus you no longer need something like a triplehead2go in order to do streched displays(more than one display as one long desktop, and no im not talking like an extended desktop).

DX11. So what? Not sure what you mean about the "streched displays".

I'm curious how the benchmarks will turn out.

You'd have to run it against a GTX 295 running in SLI to truly compare it, because if you didn't, you might as well compare it to a GTX 275.

Two GTX275's is what a GTX295 is, not a single GTX275. Two 295's would be quad sli...

Stretched displays: using three monitors as one for gaming and such. Right now you need something such as a triplehead2go in order to play like that. It essentially lets you play at high resoloutions across two/three/etc monitors.(EG- three 1920x1200 monitors side by side to play a game at 5760*1200)

And DX11 has quite a few upgrades over DX10/10.1

That's exactly what I said, and I said nothing about two GTX 295's.

A GTX 295 doesn't automatically run in SLI, you have to enable it.
Running it without enabling SLI would be like running a single 275,
as I stated.

Making sure the card is running at it's max potential before running benchmarks.

That sounds amazing.

We'll see won't we. Need an OS and a game that runs DX11 first though.
And yes, I know Windows 7 is supposedly DX11, but any word on a game?

Misread what you said about SLI there, but when there are comparative benches they obviously would have sli enabled unless they were idiots:P

IIRC vista will get DX11 as well.

Dirt 2 , S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat are both confirmed to have support for DX11. Crysis 2 may or may not have DX11.

More info on stretched displays(eyefinity):

The current way of doing that would have been the triplehead2go, which is only limited to 1680x1050 and 58hz or something like that. Nvidia hopefully will have something similar in GT300 however..
