HDD causing computer to crash

My computer occasionally crashes when I'm using firefox (didnt happen with anything else yet). It's not an instant crash but more like takes 3 seconds or so.

By this I mean, the mouse froze but for example core temp was still working and changing temp and in firefox theres an icon that shows if a page is loading and that icon was still ughh animating? Only for about 3 seconds though then the whole computer freezes and I need to press the restart button on my case.

The day that the resets started happening, is the day I got an error with my HDD, which caused me to get the BSOD (image of the error here http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p133/Bartmasta/DSC03251.jpg ). I managed to boot in safe mode, run chdsk and scandisk, and fix the problem. Since then when browsing firefox (dunno if its just a coincidence) I have been getting pc crashes.

Also since the first or 2nd crash, I have been getting a screen right before I get the windows login screen, it was something about Windows scanning my DISC D and saying it's recommended to do so. I accepted and it just ran CHKDSK and normally booted afterwards.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

It's possible that when your hard drive had errors, it corrupted Firefox. I would uninstall that badboy and reinstall for sure.

Recover Console in and attempt to repair.replace file.
or image.recover and low-level format then reinstall.
I'd get familiar with imaging, its a gift for these situations.

I dunno I never use those.

The cache getting delete is happening everytime I restart /bootup my computer.

ill try using a diff browser today
