hdd cloning

i got my new 1tb western digital hard drive today but when i tried clonezilla it got to 100% and said there was an error and then i tried running a code some one gave me from a live cd and it said permission denied can some one pleas help me i have ubuntu 9.10 my old hdd is a 200gb wd and my new one is a 1tb wd

Run this program: Awesome WD program

I have never cloned with it, but the backup feature worked well, and so it should to.

If that doesn't work, reformat it, then try again.

EDIT2- Try this. It is my favorite LiveCD for hard drive management. GParted

Once again though, try reformatting.
