and also this -

http://vistarewired.com/2007/04/07/...ws-vista-xp-when-disk-management-doesnt-work/

trying diskpart.exe, i dont know exactly how to extend using this CMD prompt, ive tried programs after programs, but none seem to work for vista,

PLEASE HELP, it would be much appreciated !!!!!!!!!!!!:o

Well the program I use for partitioning my HDDs is called Paragon Partition Manager 2005. It may sound out dated but it is really quite good. I'm not sure if it has Vista Support but it's worth a try.I'm pretty sure you can get it free but again I can not be certain.

Yes it does Matter if the partitions use different file systems. But can't windows convert fat 32 partitions to NTFS??But if you have older OS's accesing the partition they wont be able to read them with out third party software.

If you dont care about losing data google 'super fdisk' it makes a floppy of it and you boot into it and run it. Works for USB drives as well.

If you just want to reinstall windows on a fresh partition and don't care about data, windows has a built in partition manager when you install it.
