Firstly i am not a genius with computers so please go easy on me.

I have 2 PCs both with windows installed, i need to know is there a way i can put both HDDs into 1 pc without formating one of them and say which HDD to boot windows from?

I hope that makes sense and thanks alot

You can easily take one drive out of one system and add it onto another. Getting Windows to load will depend a great deal on what version of Windows is being run. For Windows 3.1 even 95 in some cases you wouldn't have the problems that would be seen with newer versions like ME/2000/XP and now Vista for sure.

For booting off of the additional drive you would first need to see a clean install of Windows with all softwares and drivers for the new system in order to work. Without two identical systems and two identical drives XP wouldn't see a working repair install. Vista lacks that option.

With a clean install on the second drive you could then see a dual boot configuration especially with two different versions of Windows involved. One would be the default seeing the option to load the other being installed on the second drive.
