HDD Help

All drives have their good and bad series. Seagate's was their 7200.11's, Western Digital's their Green series (Blue's not doing great either :P). Hitachi's good. I'm actually running one now as my primary drive, though their past is a little sketchy.

Personally, if I had to get a drive right now, I'd either get a Seagate 7200.12 or a Western Digital Black.

As for the drive you listed; that's a fine drive, but don't get it for RAID. For less money you can get a single, larger drive. Two drives give a greater chance of failure (in RAID 0) plus performance increases are quite minor. The only time I'd really suggest RAID 0 is if you're getting two very large or very high-performance drives.

Oh yeah and you asked about cache. Basically it just stores frequently accessed data. The more the better, but it's not always a sure sign of drive performance.
