HI, I have one SATA HDD and one IDE HDD.
The SATA has windows and the IDE has music, photos and documents.
PC Boots into windows with both HDDs connected, but the IDE HDD isnt displaying in windows. Have tried with jumper and no jumper. Any ideas why not showing.

I have a Gigabyte board.

Suggestions appreciated.

make sure it is partitioned go and right click on my computer than click manage and go to disk managemtn if both hds arent shown in there then its probly not hooked up right, casue i dont think you need any drivers to view them, i could be wrong

Nope doesnt show up their, already had checked their. Their is no partion on it, just one solid HDD. Yes im concerned mighten be hooked up right.

I have the HDD cable coming from the motherboard, then centre plug to hdd, and then top cable to cd drive. Cant swap those as cables arnt long enough.

I believe its suppose to be like this for your HD and CDrom both in ide2
IDE2
Master - Hard drive (used to store data and/or as a back up)
Slave - CD-ROM

I dont think you would have to enable this but you might need to enable your onboard IDE RAID Controller in the bios

Anyone else any suggestions. Altered numerous settings, no success. Attempted Load Fail Safe, still no success. Have had it working before.

The Controller could be Dead.

So you say you have tried

Disconnecting the CD Drive.

Changing the CD Drives Jumpers too Slave (Double Check)
Setting the Hard Drives Jumpers too Master (Double Check)

Hey Thanks, Disconnected the CD Drive and works now. Have to just work out how to get the both working now, as currently the CD DRive is unplugged.

Thanks

Sounds to me like the master/slave jumpers aren't set properly so when you have both connected one dissapears.
