HDD or SSD?

HDD and SSD

1) Whats the difference bet. the two?
2) Which is more expensive?
3) Which has more capacity?
4) How about Performance?
5) Pls. give me a link for the 2 items with prices and specs. already indicated.

Ive just heard the term "SSD" a couple of weeks ago that why Im asking for some info about it. THanks.

1) HDDs (Hard Disk Drive) work with a spinning platter with a moving arm that reads and writes data magnetically onto the internal disk. SSDs (Solid State Drive) store data electronically in flash memory modules.

one thing that is kinda in error with that article is the write thing...typically now with TRIM the whole write cycle thing is a non factor
 
SSDs have faster boot time. Everything is more responsive in windows and any program that you install on the SSD will launch significantly faster than a standard hard drive.

I could never go back to a standard hard drive now,It would be painfull :P

As for SSDs been expensive,They are going down in price.. because just the other day Ebuyer had the 60Gb ocz vertex 2 for £75 and alot of online retailers seem to be having a slight price war.

imo 7 is ssd friendly, but not plug and play in the Write dept.

I hear ya. I'm up in 35 sec. but i think it can be improved on.

Yeah Its gone back up to £90 now....... :( Will probably get one once the ratio falls to £1 per 1GB
