my HDD is badly damaged, when i started the computer the windows would start loading and then when it is about to change to the profile select menu, the first windows XP menu, the screen goes black and computer doesnt respond a bit, so i guess it died, i tried safe mode and its always the same reaction.
Now the HDD is connected to this computer and when i try to access the files in it windows says the disk is not formated and asks me if i want to format it, when i click properties it shows no free disk space nor used space nor any other details, so i was wondering if you guys know anyway i can force in to the HDD and try to get some of the data stored, thx!

I'm not totally convinced the problem is hardware... Have you tried a LiveCD(Linux), BartPE, or even yet another computer?

ive tryed the disc on another computer and when i try to acess it, windows just says "disk isnt formatted would you like to format it now?" a friend of mine is a computer expert hes getting me some sort of windows that works with cd i think that is waht you mean, he says it will help me recover the information

If part of the hard drive data or file system is corrupt, you cant explore it from Windows or any other explorer.

Try a program called GetMyDataBack, which lets you browse files on a damaged hard drive and it will let you recover files, and parts of files that are damaged.
