Hey guys ;) I need some opinions on this one, I have an old PC (Intel pentium3 600Mhz, 128MB RAM, 13Gb HDD, ALS4000 soundcard, and a voodoo VGA) that hasn't been in work for a long time. Yesterday i decided to fix it so i fortmated and installed Windows XP pro in my HDD and installed the drivers. When i installed the ALS4000 driver, my sound settings had been disabled and i decided to uninstall the drivers an reinstall them. During the uninstall my PC frozed and i pushed the reset button. When the PC rebooted a message was shown "Primary master hard disk fail" and my HDD made a noise like the HDD head was stuck. What should i do?? Should i replace my old HDD with a new one?

If you actually hear the drive making noises, that's usally a pretty sure sign of a bad drive... There's usally not much you can do. I suppose you could try to scan the drive for bad sectors and what not, but it's probably beyond repair.
