iam building a new computer in november
iam looking into gettin a 500gb hdd (yes...i need space, i almost filled up 250gb's)

500gb hdd around 170 on newegg
could i get like a 500 and 100 or something

like use 2 hdd's
whats the point, besides space

Using 2 hdd's is good because if one hdd dies, you won't lose all your data. And you can also use the 2nd hdd to backup important files.

Well, that's sort of what I did. I was going to buy a 400gb, but instead, I bought two 250gb and have them running in RAID 0 (they were $68 each on Newegg at the time, but since then the rebate has expired, so now they're about $78- still a pretty good price).

If you want the simplicity of only having one drive, and don't mind a few extra bucks, just buy the 500gb. If you're a penny pincher, get two drives and put them in RAID.

use two 500gigs for storage and two 250gigs in RAID 0 for you os lol
or two 80gigs, cost me under $100 for my fast system drive :D
