HDMI cards

HDMI and DVI are the same. The only real difference is that HDMI can carry audio through the one cable. I know DVI is capable of dual-link/higher resolutions(those higher than 1080p)...I'm not 100% sure if HDMI can do this too or not.
 
Ah ok, interesting stuff. Quite a relief really - saves my pocket! So cards with HMDI outputs, its basically just an alternative connection?
 
^yep, the main reason for hdmi i have found, is that it is used for when you hook up your computer to your tv, like my 60 inch has 2 hdmi's so i can plug my video card into my tv, and have it play on my tv.
 
Yes, You can find DVI to HDMI converters/cables for next to nothing. I think mine was about $12 a couple years ago. Just realize if you go from DVI to HDMI, you will NOT have audio.

Oh, and a response to my own question, HDMI can in fact have dual link like DVI. So the only real difference is that HDMI has audio and DVI can have analog video. Aside from that, there is no difference in video quality.
