Hi, i have a ati radeon x850xt right now and when purchasing it i realized it had HDTV-out support..so does this mean i can connect my video card to a HDTV compatable TV, and play all my pc games with HDTV? If this is possible, i dont see any point in buying xbox 360.

Was there EVER a reason to get an xbox360? :P Now, I don't know exactly how the output will look compared to say your averate TV-Out... HD is still interlaced and few games support that. Now, get an emulation and cut on scan lines(or off...whatever it is :P ) and you get quite a picture :)

actually there are some HDTV's that support 1080p. i've only seen Sony and Toshiba selling them but they are more expensive. PS3 will support 1080p but we won't be seeing much of 1080p until 2007 or 2008

What would be the best way to connect my video card to my HDTV? Through the s-video cable to HDMI that came with the card OR through DVI to HDMI?

Hmm, got another question...if i have the Samsung 32" HDTV will i be able to play my PC games on it with HDTV, HDR, AAx8/AFx16 ? Seem a bit like overkill but is it possible?

Does anyone have a HDTV set-up, if so please let me know if you think its worth it, for pc games of course.

A little late, sorry...but Svideo low quality O.o it's no lower than your basic TV resolution. The problem is that you guys run your resolutions too damn high :P Native TV resolutions are around 720x480, interlaced(basically 2 frames at a time) Computers run non-interlaced so the conversion, along with dropping the res. so much, causes the crappy picture. Have you ever tried running something with scanlines?

As for HD, I've yet to try that myself, but my 7800 did come with the addaptor, so I shall give it a shot sometime...

If just wondering if a HDMI connection is required, maybe i could use a DVI connection and force HDTV. If not ill stick with HDMI.
