HDTV/PC resolution problems...

I have a 1080p HDTV and a gaming PC, now I want to play in 1920x1080 but whenever I do this, my TV always cuts off the top, bottom and sides slightly, to the point I can only just see the tip of the taskbar at the bottom, even games like ArmA 2 won't play in that resolution, why is this? Any help or any fix? I'm using a SHARP TV, dunno the model, On display settings it says 1920x1080 recommended but the only proper fullscreen I can get is at 1768x992

you need to adjust the scaling option in your video cards controle panel....there will be an option when you right click your desktop that says either CCC (catalyst control center), or nvidia control panel...open which ever applies to your computer and look for scaling options...then you will see a slider, slide ti one way or the other until the display is showing properly, then see if this fixes you problem when playing a game
