Headset Problem

Hey guys ive got a headset/microphone but the microphone has stopped working. I still get sound through the speakers. When I go onto my control panel then sound/recording it recognises there is a mircophone but it says currently unavailable.

How can i solve this?

Hi Trovell

You could take a long shot and try reinstalling the drivers but this is most likely a hardware issue. You can pick up microphones for cheap only difference is it wont be connected to your headset any more, good excuse to get inventive though. Do you have any other microphone anywhere to try?
 
well i don't think it is my headset as I got it replaced and the new still has the same problem could the mircophone port be damaged?

Yer it possible mate. You could really do with another microphone to test it, or try and test your microphone with another machine.
 
I hop[e this is a silly question but, have you got a second port by any chance. Often cases will have from microphone ports?
