Ok i have a AMD X2 4200 and it seems to be running to hot. It runs at like 40 C idleing and my system temp is only like 32 C so i was wondering why this is. Thanks
summertime... mine idles at 39C at 2.4ghz not overvolted.
during the winter that drops to like 33C
of course i lapped everything to a mirrored finish.. and i have a zalman cnps9500 on there... so my coolings a little better.
but its so hot because its summertime. my gpu temp raised 5-10C too.
I have had the same problem, my way of overcoming it was to simply go out to local supermarket and buy a mormal stand-alone fan, plug it in and sit it next to my computer!! It works!!

its hotter than the system temp because it creates the more heat than most of the rest of the system. Seeing that it's summer, i guess its not that bad, my 2800+ idles at 35. But if you really want to, you can get a new cpu cooler.
yea... if its on stock cooling you may want an arctic freezer 64.. or a Tt big typhoon. those are the best overclocking heatsinks and i shouldnt have wasted my money on this cnps9500... its more of a quiet solution.
thats roughly where my single core clawhammer cored processor idle's... its nothing bad; its your load temperature that you should be really interested in
45C load temps are really good. of course mines a dual core theyre expected to be higher i get around 50-55C load temps.
not to mention im overclocked + overvolted a bunch.
