wiht my computers set up i idle at 28c and when surfing and wht not im at 29-30c. when playing bio shock or COD4 im at 43c.

are thsoe good temps or hsould i get better heatsink.

if so how would i go about finding one for a pre built hp computer.
HP Pavilion M8400F(KJ377AA) Phenom X4 9600

good temps i wouldnt bother getting a new heatsink.

if your using the Cooler that came with the processor re-applying some AS5 might help lower the temps :)

with my core do i have to use artic silver 5 specifically. i heard certain types can cause cores to over ehat. not sure if thats tru or now. i have artic silver ceramique left over from build so will that work as well on this chip.

Those temps are perfectly fine, don't bother with any changes. Heck, it's probably half impossible to upgrade the heatsink as the HP case is probably not too aftermarket heatsink friendly.

Agreed. Those are great temperatures. Just remember to replace thermal paste every 6 months and clean out the dust and you'll be doing fine.

guess ill leave as is for now. i added a pci slot fan thats 3200rpm and 45CFM so that droped idle to 25c and normal use to 28-30
