im needing some quick info.

im wanting to upgrade heat sink as while encoding dvd and burning im hitting 55c.

CPU-Z reads:
AMD Phenom 9600 quad core
Scoket AM+(940)

now if i were to buy a after market heat sink will any that says 940 or am2 work for the motherboard as long as brackets are included.

i have about 70$ to spend on heat sink

A Zalman CNPS9700 is marked down at most places from the original $79.99 and will right on an AM2/AM2+ cpu. That includes it's own retaining bracket. Before shipping costs there's a $25 instant off applied. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118019

If you have a good mid tower not compact case that will usually fit right in despite the large copper array of fins. With the right application of thermal paste temps will drop as long as the case itself sees good air flow as well. That will also make a difference no matter what 3rd cooler you decide on since keeping the board cooler also ends up seeing lower cpu temps as a side benefit.
