Heatsink Fan Direction

Hey!
I just bought the xigmatek dark knight for my amd mobo but the mobo only lets the heatsink face up or down. Which way should I put it on now that it can't face sideways?
 
Depends on where your power supply is. If it's above the cooler, then have the fan blowing up so the hot air can be exhausted through the power supply.

That's not what I mean...it is blowing into it. (but you can go both ways)

I think I'll point it up to suck air off the GPU and keep the general airflow of the case constant.

Well fans/heatsinks can be made specifically for one way. You should read the instructions to see if says anything about which way the fan should be facing. If it doesn't say anything about not doing it then I guess it'd be OK.
