Heatsink/Fan

It's hard to say, either should be better than stock but I would expect the zalman to be a lot better due to its large size and fan.

yea, but I don't think that the Zalman would work on the Intel D945PSN mobo. From my figuring it would overlap the mobo heatsink and some of the memory slots.

seems like you have answered your own question then.:)

It doesn't look as if your motherboard is on the compatibility list for the Zalman. The othe one would work fine for cooling.

yea, i wouldnt get either. go with an aerocool gt-1000 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835183111
personally, im getting that with 2 92mm vantec tornadoes. also, im buying vantec dampening devices and a fan controller because those f***ers are loud. of course, im overclocking. if i were you, id just get that, and maybe a faster fan if you want it to be even cooler. VERY nice heatsink though, gold plated for max heat dissipation.

Or you could jsut get one of the best silent coolers arounda nd get the Thermalright XP-120. I have it and it's awesome and silent (I do have a 120mm fan on top, but you don't need one, and even if you get one like a vantec stealth or something, it'll still be quieter than most). It's about $55.

I only have 45 and I need to order very soon (don't say "just wait and save up" lol)

at xoxide they have a part that can make the Zalman 7000 series compatible with socket 775
