Heavy processor and external HD

this may be a stuoid question but is saving on a external HD help lower the chances of a laptop heating up as opposed to if you were saving onto the laptop's hardrive? does that make sense?

and what i mean by heavy processor is if i was running really heavy processor duty programs like CS2.

Well using an external hard drive may take a slight load off the internal hard drive, however Windows and your programs will most likely be installed on your internal hard drive, so it's going to be in use during photshop. The temperatures given off by a hard drive (especially a low RPM drive) is very small compared to the heat given off by the processor and/or video card. I wouldnt worry about the temps of the internal hard drive.
