Hello, i just recently registered on these forums, but i also have a quick question. I am replacing my harddrive on an old computer(primarly for word proccesing and money apps). The harddrive is dying out, making weird sounds all that jazz, so i figure i might as well start a new because the drive is full of a bunch of crap. So my plan is to save all the docs i need from the old drive and just putting in the new one and reinstalling window instead of creating a slave and coping all the old unnecessary junk. Are there any flaws in my plan that may not work.

btw, i have some computer experience but not loads. But thats why im here :).

I am assuming you have only 1 HD currently. I would save all your files to any media you can.. sending to your self in email works fine, a disk etc... Pull out the hard drive and replace a new IDE (not SATA) drive. You will need a cd for all your applications... ms word ms money and also a cd for MS windows... be it xp me 2k or 98. Plug in the new hd (with the jumper setting on the hd to master), and plop in the windows cd you have. Press f2 to load the bios settings, and make sure your cd boots before your hd. Reboot computer after saving the settings, and follow the windows cd promts. Very easy to do.. :)

Sweet deal, thats is my plan. Just wanted to see if there were any problems i was not seeing. Thanks for your help.
