Help,1stbuild,Unsure of wat i need..

he said he might upgrade to a 512MB card... and i told him to go all the way to 768MB... b/c the more memory the better

also i noticed that my PSU has 2 fans. I was just wondering is the 2nd fan on top, which i will have to cut a new whole in my case, or is it at the bottom??
There is a bottom intake fan and rear exhaust fan.

Opterons are more expensive AND less powerful than the X2s, or at least last time I checked they were. The ONLY plus to the opteron is that you can use 2 opterons together for the only 4 core solution.
i checked newegg and there are different types of opterons(175,180,152,154,etc.) the most expensive is the 154 at $1078. the one im looking at in the 175 dual core($520).here are the ones im looking at.

blast i forgot where i posted this. the 175 is a great cpu, and ive heard it oc'ed to 2.9, though 2.6 and 2.8 seem to be more feasible on STOCK heatsink. it has something to do with the type of silicon they use in the opteron chips. and for the price of 4400... not bad.

I think I've already said this like 20 times, but if you're getting an opteron you should know that its not officialy supported by motherboards, so while it should work, if you have a problem, even if its unrelated to the CPU/motherboard compatibilty, then gigabyte (or whatever motherboard your getting) will not help you.

If you do get the opteron tell us how it OC's and what the stepping is, I've heard newegg ran out of CCBWE 053XX.

this if from along time ago.
i decided to just get a x2 4200(look at sig)
the 4200 can go 2.7ghz just by aircooling and cheaper too.

He was talking about GPU memory, not system memory. Do they make 768MB video cards?
