Hello, Figured I would come to the experts for this one. I am in the process of upgrading my video card to run a few games at higher settings. WOW being the one I play most. I have looked on other forums but a lot of the abbreviations and tech talk are over my head to be honest.

I currently have a Dell E521 with AMD Athlon 64x2 dual Core 3800+ , 2.0 GHZ. My card is a 256MB ATI Radeon x1300 pro (bad, I know). I have already ordered a new 600W power supply to replace the current 305W.

Looking around I have seen several mid-price cards being talked about. The most common are GTX 460, GT 240, and HD 5770. I could use some expert advice on which are the best or any other viable options.

Thanks

What power supply did you get specifically? 600w doesn't mean a lot if its an el cheapo brand. Assuming the power supply is of reasonable quality, then the GTX 460 is the best of the options you listed. Having said that however, what exactly is your budget?

That's a really good deal on the 1gb version of the 460 and will out perform basically everything for that price, especially once you overclock. It is $10 over budget though, and that's before tax :( If that's too rich for your blood, then it comes down to scouring for either a 5770 or a cheap GTX460 768mb. There seems to be a few 5770s on NewEgg for $130ish that should be solid performers.
