Hey, I just bought a Sony vio and I have a few questions. I bought a Seagate 200gb HD, but failed to notice that the connectors my computer has are different. The new HD uses a 4-pin (P4?) for power while the pc uses 8-pin (P8?). The new HD also uses 39-pin(ATA?) while the PC uses a 7-pin connector with an L shaped groove (sata?). So how the hell do I get this to work? I'm hoping I can fix it with a few adapters. I just saw 200gb for $30 and had to get them, I got three:) Also, I was wondering how many HDs I could use. The mobo has three sata slots open, but no pci slots, and only one pci connector unused. Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you. Is there a limit on how many IDE or P4 connectors I can put on one cable? I have to use the only spare IDE connector for a DVD ROM. Is there a limit on the # of HDs I can have?

You can put it slave on the one with the c-rom as master, then two more on the secondery IDE

I only have one IDE port on my mobo and one of the connectors on the cord is used by a dvd burner and the other I need for a dvd rom drive. It's not lookin' too good:(

where did you find 200gb for $30?

They are seagates from compusa on black friday, it was like $150+tax each - rebates =$30. You can enter the rebates online, I just hope I get my $500+ in rebates.

Ok thanks, I really expected to get flamed:) Now I don't have to go to the store to ask dumb questions, I did it anonymously.:D

lol yeah i saw those, but i went for the SATA ones, which are alot faster. And you do realize that they only accept one rebate per address for the same item right...

Yeah, I had to have someone else pick them up. How much were the sata HDs? You submit the rebates online, so do you think if I do them each with a different account and address I will get the money? I hope so.
