Be gentle, I'm coming as a total n00b. I'd like to get a computer specifically to run the game "Rise of Flight," a WWI flight simulator (www.riseofflight.com).
Nothing else really factors in but running this game smoothly. The FPS is what I'm really concerned about, I hate low frame rates or stuttering, I'm pretty obsessed about really high FPS. When 5 or 6 planes are on-screen, I'm hoping it can be as smooth as possible.
So my questions... what factors most into running smoothly? The graphics card? CPU? Hard drive speed? (Would solid state be worth it, since the whole thing is for this one game mainly?) Probably some of everything, right? Any help understanding the most important factors...
So I want to shoot for $2000 for computer and monitor(s). I'd like to get 3 monitors if possible, but running the game super smooth is more important. So I figure three $300 monitors, and $1100 computer, or $500 monitor and $1500 computer. I really don't know what's necessary.
So how much would you say assembling your own computer saves on a $1000-1500 computer? A couple hundred? Would a self-built computer run faster? Is it worth reading up on how to assemble these things?
Thanks for any help, and please be gentle to the n00b. If you have any good links explaining stuff (better than what's already readily found on this site), please feel free to share.
