:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:( I have a laptop dell of course i am installing win xp pro and booting from cd and i have come to the point where i need to insert a product key.
I have put it in the one that came with the computer disc and it says it is invaild what do i need a reply asap.
 
it should be a on a sticker that is on the laptop physically. I know that Dell stamps their machines with OEM product key stickers.

You shouldnt need a key if its a dell CD, That or PM me with your model ill get you a key :)
 
yeah if you're using the Dell CD it would skip the cd-key part and proceed with setup, are you sure you're using a dell branded OS cd ?

Thats because your using ILLEGAL product keys! Where exactly did you find 7 xp pro product keys? Just lying around your house? Seriously! Grow the hell up! And since when was a 512mb 40gig dell laptop running vista anything close to a good machine!
 
You have 14 PCs and they are all running xp pro right? Well, im stepping off this thread at this point before I say something ill regret later. Already reported, Ill leave it to everyone else to pass their judgement on this unlikely story.
 
well, if indeed all of those keys are legal then it looks like they have been used too many times. hows about going out and buying a fresh legal copy so that you dont have this problem.

oh, and why wont the Dell one work? i have had a Dell pc, must have reformatted it 10 times or so, it worked every time.
