HI,

have just changed motherboards on my PC, added new CPU and Memory
When I go to boot up I get past the Bios Etc and windows pops up with the Screen offering me different boot modes due to interuption (not unexpected)
whatever option I choose it resets the PC and takes me back to the same screen, i.e. windows never loads
I have not changed my HDD, and if I go into the bios it seems to have recognised all the parts

Intel p4 3.0ghz
Corsair XMS pc3200 2gb
Asrock Pi65G Mobo

anyone got any ideas
(I am obviously posting from a different comp :-) )

If you have an XP full install disk you could perform a repair install hopefully to avoid deleting the current installation of Windows. You are trying to load the board drivers for the old board as well. But the main a repair install is correct the mbr and partition information as well as XP's hardware logs. You can follow the detailed article seen at http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

If the repair install goes well you will only have to install the drivers ofr the new board and perhaps those for the video card and sound. The rest of the files and folders will remian intact. One fast way to see if this is what is needed would be to boot to the recovery console with the XP cd and type in "Fixmbr" at the command prompt there. The other would be a deletion of the current XP installation where it may require deletion of the current partition.
