Hi everyone, my family has had the same dell desktop for about 6 years now but sadly, it finally stopped working yesterday :( although my family is not absolutely computer retarded, we are not savvy with them either and would like some help building a new one. From this computer we would like to do mostly the basics. Email, pictures, itunes, microsoft word, and minimal gaming for my little brother. Where is the best place to look now a days? We want to spend somewhere between 500 to 700 dollars, although, a little more if necessary. Can someone help us build a new one? What do you guys think would be the best model for the money??

i just edited a wish list, trying to wait on neweggs server to update it to public...then ill post a link its a little over 700, but you could remove the SSD and stick with the HDD, to save a buck, but it should do everything you want, and then some.

https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=11606749

-reason for the ssd i picked, response will be faster, boots instantaneous, and you can shut the darn thing down every night without depending on sleep or hibernate, which more times than not wont work with a desktop, ssd mounting bracket included with the vertex, agility does not include it, so for 5 bucks, you get a 20 dollar bracket

also a few MIRs in there...so you could recoupe the cost of the ssd mostly...just by sending them in, but i suggest photocopying your UPC's for rma usage if needed down the road.

Wow, thank you, but i see that this is a hardware list that I would have to put together, but I'm afraid I just don't have the time or experience to try and figure this out. Could you recommend a pre-made tower?
