Help Building Gaming System

Ok, my current computer atm is busted. And i have a good idea that it's the mobo. This is what i'm looking to upgrade:

CPU: Intel P4 2.0GHZ
Ram: 2x 512mb Kingston (PC2700 i think o_O)
G-Card: Nvidia Geforce FX6600 GT Pro AGP
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000 Pro-G

I have not listed the rest as it does not need to be upgraded. Basically this system lags in big situations for example on wow i get really bad lag in molten core etc. And on cs it's pretty fine except the little lag in smoke.

The new system i'm looking to build is (excluding the card as i'm not sure)

Mobo:
Intel DP965LT 965 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard - Retail (MB-011-IN)

Price:£69.95
URL:http://www.overclockers.co.uk/cgi-bin/ss000001.pl?PRODREF=MB-011-IN&NOLOGIN=1&NOCLEARFRAMES=1

Memory:
OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC5300 Dual Channel Gold GX XTC Series EL-DDR2 (OCZ26672048ELGEGXT-K) (MY-064-OC)

URL:http://www.overclockers.co.uk/cgi-bin/ss000001.pl?PRODREF=MY-064-OC&NOLOGIN=1&NOCLEARFRAMES=1
Price:£114.95

CPU: Intel Core 2 DUO E6400 "LGA775 Allendale" 2.13GHz (1066FSB) - OEM (CP-137-IN)

Url:http://www.overclockers.co.uk/cgi-bin/ss000001.pl?PRODREF=CP-137-IN&NOLOGIN=1&NOCLEARFRAMES=1
Price:132.95

These prices are excluding VAT. Vat added onto this is £55.63. And for my question i was wondering, is this a good system for gaming?. How much improvement will it make compared to my previous one? and could i run high GFX'd games at a high spec with mininum lag. I also need help picking a gfx card.

Feel free to offer advice on what should be changed, it still isn't 100% i am looking to change to what's better and is within my budget.

500 Pound is my budget and also has to be purchased from www.overclockers.co.uk

Thank You.

The Processor is fine but the website says £139.99 unless you got some discount or something like that. Um I usually like to get motherboards with heatsinks installed to help with the cooling and the P965 chipset so I reccomend the Abit AB9 Pro (£101.99) or the Asus P5B Deluxe (£129.99) or the Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 (£129.99). Then I would probably opt for the Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400 but they call it Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C5 TwinX (2x1GB) (£139.99).
