hey all.
ok i'm trying to brun a dvd. the dir on the computer is VIDEO_TS and its 7.5 gb.
so i'm trying to use NERO to burn (as I usally do for these kinds of files). but i kep getting message saying the max disc size should be no more 4.7 gb or something.

how can I fix this problem?

I usually use convertXtoDVD to make dvds, but i guess this cant be used here?

so what to do?

thanks.

7.5 GB would mean that you need a dual layer DVD-R and you'd need a dual layer capable DVD burner.

If you don't have either, find a program called DVD Shrink and it will shrink that VIDEO_TS folder down to the normal 4.7 GB DVD-R.

i do h ave dual layer dvd-r disc. thought i'm not sure about my burner. but according to nero, it cannot detect the disc type and the error message is software related and not hardware (though i am using older version of nero so not sure).

about the DVD Shrink, does it make the movie on more than one disc? or does it downgrade the quality of the video?

thanks :)

I have used convertXtodvd to burn dual layer disk types before whats the problem when you try to use burn it with convertX

From what I've read dual layer DVD-R disks were not designed for video. More of a large Data disk. If you want to burn the disk to dual layer, get yourself some Vebatium DVD+R DL, and a copy of IMGBURN.

Yeah, if you use DVD Shrink it will lower the quality of the video.

What DVD burner do you have?
